Ukraine’s grain exports for the July-June 2023/24 marketing season reached 42.91 million metric tonnes as of May 10, compared with 42.94 million a year earlier, agriculture ministry data shows.

That includes as much as, 1.55 million tonnes exported so far in May, the data showed on Friday.

Ukraine typically sends almost 95% of its grain exports via its Black Sea ports.

The Ukrainian government expects a harvest of 81.3 million tonnes of grain and oilseeds in 2023, with a 2023/24 exportable surplus of about 50 million tonnes.

The ministry has said the 2024 combined grain and oilseed crop could fall to 74 million tonnes, including 52.4 million tonnes of grain.
