An everyday van converted into a fully operational drone control center is part of a €150,000 aid package being sent to Ukraine from Latvia.

Built to the specifications of Ukrainian soldiers, the hi-tech van was the inspiration of the Ganta Foundation, which was set up to provide support for Ukraine following Russia’s invasion.

Aigars Loss, a member of the board of the Ganta Foundation, said: “There are two places inside, so one is the one who controls the drone and the other is the one who processes the information that is received.”

“It works in two directions: one is the scouts, which are a bit more serious and high-flying, and the other is already implemented, so to speak, strike drones and droppers."

He added that the van also includes a protection system for suppressing frequencies.

The van will be accompanied by two large trailer trucks and a cargo van filled with medical supplies and humanitarian aid, as well as several off-road vehicles for soldiers.
