Polish and Ukrainian foreign ministers have spoken about positive developments in the relations between the two countries after they were plagued for months by a dispute over the import of Ukrainian grain.

Radosław Sikorski and Dmytro Kuleba held a telephone conversation on Thursday.

“We have recorded positive dynamics in bilateral relations,” Kuleba said, referring to the talks, as cited by his ministry’s press service on Thursday evening.

The Ukrainska Pravda portal has reported that at the end of April, Polish farmers, protesting against cheap Ukrainian farm produce inflow, ended their blockade of truck traffic at the last blocked border crossing in Rawa Ruska-Hrebenne.

“This way, at least for now, Poles have unblocked the border with Ukraine,” the website wrote.

On March 28, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal met in Warsaw for intergovernmental consultations. After the meeting, they signed a joint declaration to resolve the issue of trade and transit of agricultural products between Poland and Ukraine.
