President Duda advocates developing clean hydrogen tech during Canada visit

Andrzej Duda, the Polish president, during his trip to Canada, has promoted developing clean hydrogen technologies to reach climate neutrality.

Duda, along with representatives of Polish hydrogen companies, attended the Canadian Hydrogen Convention in Edmonton, Alberta on Tuesday.

The Polish president expressed his hope for bilateral cooperation with Canada in the field of hydrogen power that promises “sustainable and inexpensive energy.”

Duda said that Poland ranks third in the EU and fifth in the world in terms of hydrogen production. He also mentioned the hydrogen strategy adopted by the government in 2021, outlined the sector’s development for the next 10 years.

The Polish Hydrogen Strategy involves launching 800 to 1,000 new hydrogen buses, including those manufactured in Poland and constructing at least 32 hydrogen refueling and storage stations. “Poland, with all its predispositions, knowledge and experience, is ready to meet the challenge of climate neutrality,” Duda said.
