During his visit to Warsaw on Tuesday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized the significance of the allied troops stationed in Poland as a demonstration of NATO’s support for its member states.

Meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and British counterpart Rishi Sunak at the 1st Warsaw Armoured Brigade base, Stoltenberg addressed the evolving threat landscape, highlighting the alignment of authoritarian powers and Russia’s aggression with backing from China, Iran, and North Korea.

Stoltenberg underscored NATO’s defensive posture, asserting the alliance’s commitment to providing security for its members. He emphasized that the presence of NATO troops in Poland sends a clear message of solidarity and readiness to defend all allies.

Additionally, Stoltenberg praised Poland’s contributions to supporting Ukraine militarily and hosting refugees. He affirmed NATO’s commitment to ensuring stable assistance for Ukraine, mentioning ongoing efforts to develop long-term financial aid plans.

Stoltenberg welcomed the recent approval of a U.S. military aid package for Ukraine, which had faced delays in the U.S. Congress. He also highlighted NATO’s efforts to bolster Ukrainian air defense capabilities through the deployment of additional Patriot systems from Germany.

Stoltenberg’s visit underscored NATO’s solidarity with its allies, with the troop presence in Poland serving as a tangible symbol of the alliance's commitment to collective defense and security.
