Over the weekend, Lithuania completed the handover of an L-39ZA Albatros light attack aircraft to Ukraine, as announced by the Defense Ministry.

The aircraft, which had been disassembled, was transported and transferred to the Ukrainian army by the Lithuanian armed forces.

Lithuania previously utilized L-39ZA Albatros aircraft for training fighter jet control officers and conducting combat training for pilots under challenging day and night weather conditions.

This latest delivery adds to Lithuania’s ongoing support for Ukraine, which has included providing 155 mm ammunition, M577 armored personnel carriers, anti-drone systems, Carl Gustaf anti-tank grenade launcher ammunition, and RISE-1 remote detonation systems.

Since the conflict’s onset, Lithuania has allocated over €1 billion in aid to Ukraine, with approximately €610 million designated for military assistance.
