LOT to resume flights to Tel Aviv, Beirut citing ‘stabilization of the situation’ in Middle East

LOT, Poland’s national airline, will resume flights to Beirut and Tel Aviv owing to “stabilization” in the region. The airline announced on April 14 that it would stop flying to the two capitals following the Iranian drone and missile attack on Israel the day before.

The resumption of the flights was further postponed due to an attack on an Iranian air base in Isfahan, which security sources have attributed to Israel, but which both sides seemed eager to downplay the importance of, with Tehran saying that it would not retaliate.

Citing these recent developments, Krzysztof Moczulski, LOT’s spokesman, announced on Saturday that Poland’s national carrier had reversed the decision to suspend the flights “due to the stabilization of the situation in the region.”

The first flight to Beirut will take off from Warsaw’s Chopin Airport at around 10 p.m. Polish time. The flight to Tel Aviv is scheduled for Sunday, at 11.10 p.m.
