LOT Polish Airlines canceled flights from Warsaw to Tel Aviv and Beirut on Friday due to the unstable situation in the region, company spokesman Krzysztof Moczulski told the Polish Press Agency (PAP) on Friday.
“Today’s flight 151/152 to Israel from Warsaw and to Beirut 143/144 have been canceled,” Moczulski told PAP.
As he stressed, the safety of LOT’s passengers, crews, and operations is the highest standard for the company. “Therefore, due to the unstable situation in the region, LOT has decided to cancel these flights,” the spokesman noted.
At the same time, he pointed out that LOT does not fly to Tel Aviv and Beirut on Saturdays. “Regarding flights on other days, decisions will be made on an ongoing basis,” he added.
Israel struck targets in Iran’s Isfahan on Friday, Bloomberg news website reported, citing two high-level U.S. officials. Iran denied any shelling had taken place.
There are Iranian nuclear facilities in the Isfahan area, but, Tehran’s state television reported, that they have not been damaged. The International Atomic Energy Agency also confirmed that the facilities are intact.
