“Don’t be intimidated by Putin. We aren’t,” European Council President Charles Michel addressed former U.S. President Donald Trump on social media on Friday stressing how EU support for Ukraine amounts to EUR 143 billion, challenging his claims that the EU isn't providing adequate aid to Ukraine.
On Thursday, Trump, in a post on his TRUTH social, urged Europe to increase aid to Ukraine. “Why isn’t Europe giving more money to help Ukraine? Why is it that the United States is over USD 100 Billion Dollars into the Ukraine War more than Europe, and we have an Ocean between us as separation! Why can’t Europe equalize or match the money put in by the United States of America in order to help a Country in desperate need?” he wrote. “Get moving Europe!” Trump added.
“Let’s get the facts straight,” the European Council president stressed in his comment. “The numbers speak for themselves. EU contribution to Ukraine: EUR 143 billion,” Michel pointed out.
Johnson announced that the chamber would begin proceedings on Saturday. His decision was met with criticism from the radical part of the Republican Party, which likely means the aid bills will have to be passed with Democratic support.

The U.S. Congress may break the months-long impasse over aid to Ukraine in the coming days. More than two months after the Democratic-led Senate approved a USD 61 billion aid package to support Ukraine, the House of Representatives bills were presented on Wednesday by the chamber’s chairman, Republican Mike Johnson..@realDonaldTrump, don’t be intimidated by Putin.
