LOT to launch new flight route to Oradea, expanding network in Romania

On June 3, PLL LOT will inaugurate its Warsaw-Oradea connection. Flights will be operated four times a week, all year round, as announced by the airline. Oradea will be the third Romanian destination in the LOT network, following Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

The carrier announced that flights to Oradea will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. “On Wednesdays and Fridays, flight LO655 will depart from Warsaw at 11:25, and the return flight LO656 will depart from Oradea at 14:35. On Mondays and Saturdays, flight LO657 will depart from Warsaw at 14:30, and the return flight LO658 will depart at 17:40. The connection will be operated by comfortable Embraer 170 and 175 aircraft, and the flight will last about 1.5 hours,” the carrier informed.

The airline pointed out that Oradea will be the third Romanian destination in the carrier’s network, after Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. “Residents of the Bihor region will gain a connection with Warsaw, but also convenient transfers to airports in Poland, Western Europe, and North America,” indicated Robert Ludera, the director of the PLL LOT connection network office.

“Oradea, located in northwestern Romania, impresses tourists primarily with its Baroque, Art Nouveau, and also Socialist-Realist architecture. It can also be a base for exploring the surrounding natural areas, including the Apuseni Mountains. In Oradea, visitors will be greeted with local delicacies—Sarmale cabbage rolls, Palacsinta pancakes available almost everywhere, and warm Papanasi donuts,” added LOT.

As explained, flights from Warsaw to Oradea will be carried out in cooperation with the Bihor region under the PSO (Public Service Obligation) formula. Since March 31, 2024, Romania is in the Schengen Zone, so there is no longer a need to go through border control, which will shorten the check-in process.

Tickets for flights to Oradea can be purchased on the lot.com website, at the LOT Contact Center, and at LOT Travel offices.
