Handball: Polish women’s team qualifies for the European Championships after beating Kosovo

In a dominant display, the Polish women’s handball team secured a resounding 28-17 victory over Kosovo in their last European Championship qualifier match held in Zielona Góra. This win secured their advancement to the finals, to be hosted by Hungary, Austria, and Switzerland later this year.

Led by standout performances from players like Magda Balsam with 9 goals and Monika Kobylińska with 3 goals, the Polish team asserted their dominance early in the game, taking a commanding 15-9 lead into halftime. The solid defensive effort, combined with precise attacks, ensured their victory and qualification for the European Championship.

While Kosovo’s Leonora Demaj proved to be a formidable opponent with 4 goals, the Polish team’s cohesive performance and strategic play led them to a comfortable victory.

With this win, the Polish women’s handball team secures their spot in the European Championship for the sixth consecutive time. The final group draw is scheduled for April 18th in Vienna.
