Ukraine’s allies “need some platforms where they can unite their efforts and achieve some synergy,” Director of the European Resilience Initiative Center Sergej Sumlenny said in a TVP World interview about the importance of European initiatives, such as the Three Seas, the Weimar Triangle and others, for the future of Ukraine.
“Every format which has short ways [to help], which has commitment towards Ukraine is a good one,” Sumlenny said.
According to the European Resilience Initiative Center director, such initiatives are important, however, “it is actions which count the most”.
He pointed to the behavior of some German politicians that would be adamant on providing all necessary aid for Ukraine in interviews but then vote against providing the war-torn country with Taurus missiles.
Drones
Sumlenny also pointed to projects that would help Kyiv create drone productions facilities, which are crucial, especially since the country lacks sufficient artillery shells, fighter jets and navy.
He emphasized that Ukraine is turning into a world leader in specialized drones technology. “Effectively you can kill a tank with an investment of like EUR 2,000 (approximately 3 drones), which is way cheaper than a EUR 300,000 Javelin missile.”
