Due to a reduction in the threat level of Russian airstrikes on Ukraine, the operation of Polish and allied aviation in Polish airspace has been concluded, announced the Operational Command of the Armed Forces on Platform X.
According to the operational command, the deployed forces and resources have returned to standard operational activities.
“This was another night of heightened readiness for Polish and allied systems and intensive service by soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces, who are continuously monitoring the situation in Ukrainian territory and remain in constant readiness to ensure the security of Polish airspace,” explained the operational command in a statement on X.
According to earlier reports, the Russian Federation engaged in intense long-range aviation activity overnight from Thursday to Friday, which included missile strikes on targets in Ukrainian territory.
The operational command stated that, as a result, Polish and allied aircraft were operating in Polish airspace, which may be associated with an increased level of noise, especially in the southeastern area of the country.
A Russian cruise missile, intended for Ukraine, entered Polish airspace, lingering for 39 seconds last week on Sunday. The defense minister affirmed that Polish authorities would have intercepted the missile if there had been any indication of a threat to Polish territory.
