NATO must assertively communicate to Russia that any incursion of its missiles into alliance airspace will result in their destruction, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said during an interview with Fox News while in Washington, D.C.

Speaking against the backdrop of a Russian missile breaching Polish territory for approximately 39 seconds amidst a significant bombardment of Ukraine, Landsbergis underscored the gravity of such violations.

“An isolated incident could be dismissed as an error. However, tolerating a recurrence would be interpreted as a tacit endorsement,” he stated.

Landsbergis advocated for a strategic shift in NATO’s posture, emphasizing the necessity of unequivocally warning that future intrusions by missiles or drones will be met with decisive countermeasures.

“This stance is imperative,” he stressed, revealing that Poland and Romania have already been subjects of similar transgressions.
