Football: Polish squad begins training ahead of playoff match with Estonia

The Poland squad has begun training in Warsaw ahead of a crucial match that will determine whether they reach the playoff final for European Championship qualifying.

Poland play Estonia in a European Championship semi-final playoff against Estonia on Thursday at the PGE national stadium, Michał Probierz's men will play in a new kit.
The players have been gradually gathering at the team hotel in Warsaw.

“The last to appear will be Bartosz Slisz from Atlanta United; he will probably arrive in the evening. He played last night, Polish time, in a match in the MLS league,” Polish national team spokesman Emil Kopanski told the Polish Press Agency (PAP).
The spokesman stated that the players have reported being in good health and are, thus far, injury free.

The next week will determine whether Poland qualifies for this year's European Championships in Germany. They will take on Estonia, who are 123rd in the FIFA world rankings, on March 21 in Warsaw in the semifinal. If they eliminate the Estonians, they will face either Wales or Finland five days later in the final.

In the event of a defeat to Estonia, Probierz’s team will play a friendly match against the loser of the Wales-Finland semi-final on March 26.

After a meeting and lunch on Monday, the national team players will take part in a training session at 5 p.m. at PGE Narodowy, which will be preceded by a press conference with the coach and captain, Robert Lewandowski.
