Iga Świątek, the top seed, breezed past Yulia Putintseva with a commanding 6-1, 6-2 victory on Tuesday, setting the stage for an Indian Wells quarter-final showdown against former world number one Caroline Wozniacki.
Initially slow to find her rhythm, Świątek faced four break points in the third game before hitting her stride. She swiftly surged to a 5-1 lead, leading to frustration from Putintseva, who vented her annoyance by tossing her racket to the floor. “I knew I had to keep my focus (in the second set), she was trying different stuff out there. But I just really wanted to play my game and focus on what I want to do. I'm glad I did that” Świątek remarked.

In other matches, Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk secured a decisive 6-4, 6-1 victory over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and is set to face Anastasia Potapova, who triumphed over Jasmine Paolini in a three-set battle.
