Linda Noskova, the world’s number 26, will be Iga Świątek’s opponent in the third round of the WTA 1000-ranked tournament in California’s Indian Wells. The Czech tennis player defeated Italian Camila Giorgi 6:3, 7:5 on Friday.

Earlier in the day, Iga Świątek won against American Danielle Collins 6:3, 6:0. Świątek has already played against Collins eight times (she has seven wins), and previously in the second round of this year's Australian Open. Iga can feel a déjà vu, since in January, in the Australian Open, after a second-round win against Collins, she faced... Noskova. The 19-year-old Czech made a huge upset and knocked Świątek out in three sets, later reaching her maiden Grand Slam quarterfinal.

Both ladies met for the first time last year in the quarterfinals of a WTA event in Warsaw, Poland, where the Polish super athlete won smoothly in two sets.

Other Polish representatives in Indian Wells: Magdalena Fręch and Magda Linette, lost their first round matches.
