Poland’s Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has said that as a sign of mourning for two soldiers who died following an accident during training exercises, state flags will be flown at half-mast at all military facilities on Thursday.
The two servicemen were run over by an infantry vehicle during an exercise at the Drawsko Pomorskie training area in northwestern Poland on Tuesday morning.
One died the same day, the other on Wednesday afternoon.

“We say goodbye to two soldiers of the 1st Warsaw Armoured Brigade who died as a result of injuries they suffered in an accident on the training ground... as a sign of mourning, state flags will be lowered to half-mast in all military units.”
Jacek Piotrowski, a spokesman for the 1st Warsaw Armoured Brigade, told the Polish Press Agency (PAP) on Tuesday that the accident had occurred during a routine exercise. He said the exercise was not related to Nato's ongoing Dragon-24 maneuvers, part of the alliance's larger Steadfast Defender-24 exercise.
