Romania’s June European Parliament elections will be combined with local elections; presidential elections will be held in September, while parliamentary elections will be held in December, the heads of Romania’s two main coalition parties, PSD and PNL, announced.
The Social Democratic Party (PSD) and the National Liberal Party (PNL) will field joint lists in the MEP elections but will run separately in local elections, Marcel Ciolacu (PSD) and Nicolae Ciuca (PNL) announced.
The leaders of the two coalition parties also finally announced the calendar for the current election year, in which four elections are to be held in Romania. The EP and local elections will be held on June 9, presidential elections on September 8 and 22, and parliamentary elections on December 8.
