Ukrainian armed forces struck a grouping of Russian soldiers in an occupied part of Ukraine’s Donetsk region with HIMARS missiles on Tuesday, killing at least 60 of them as they waited for their commander to arrive, the Russian-language branch of the BBC reported.
“In the middle of the day, the Ukrainian military hit a firing range near the village of Trudivsky in the Volnovas district of the Donetsk region with two HIMARS missiles,” a message published on the broadcaster’s Russian editorial profile on Telegram stated.
At the time of the attack, soldiers of the 36th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade, whose permanent location is the city of Borzya in Zabaykalsky Krai, Siberia, were on the training ground.
“At the time of the strike, members of the 4th, 5th, and 6th companies of this brigade were lined up and awaiting the arrival of the commander of the 29th Army of the Eastern Military District, General Oleg Moiseyev,” the report added.
Moreover, the BBC’s Russian service has obtained more than 10 photos and videos of the scene, taken immediately after the attack. The footage shows dozens of dead Russian soldiers.
