Approximately 20,000 kilogrammes of meat were grilled to celebrate the 34th anniversary of the city of Parauapebas, south-eastern Brazil. The local authorities claimed the event to be the “biggest barbecue in the world.” According to them, some 50-70,000 people participated in the feast.
“The municipality is again celebrating its birthday in style, after two years with limited celebrations due to the [COVID-19] pandemic,” the town hall wrote on its website.
