‘Anti-crisis shield' draft law to move to President on Friday

A draft of a special law introducing some elements of an anti-crisis "shield" will proceed to the Polish President Andrzej Duda and the Social Dialogue Council (RDS) on Friday, the Ministry of Development tweeted on Thursday.

An extraordinary sitting of the RDS is scheduled for Monday with Development Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz and Family, Labour and Social Policy Minister Marlena Malag to discuss the matter. The draft will then be adopted by the government, the ministry stated.

On Wednesday, after a Cabinet Council sitting devoted to a package to invigorate the economy to help combat the impact of the coronavirus epidemic, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced the emergence of a draft under the title: Economic and Social Anti-Crisis Shield For Security of Enterprises and Employees in face of SARS-CoV-2 Virus pandemic.

The estimated value of the package is PLN 212 bn (EUR 46.63 bn).
