The Polish forward has signed a contract until June 2023. The information was released on the club’s website on Wednesday evening.

AC Milan’s press conference will be held on Thursday, when the official presentation of Krzysztof Piątek will take place. The conference will be followed by the first training session in the Rossoneri team.

Gossips of the upcoming transfer to AC Milan have circulated for a while, with leading Italian newspapers writing about the move already on Friday last week.

Piątek comes to Milan in place of Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain who in turn joined London’s Chelsea FC.

Unofficially, Krzysztof Piątek cost AC Milan EUR 35 million and additional EUR 5 million in bonuses. This makes him the most expensive Polish football player in history as the 2016 transfer of Arkadiusz Milik from Ajax Amsterdam to SSC Napoli amounted to EUR 32 million.

Piątek joined Genoa CFC last summer from the Polish club Cracovia Kraków. He has made an impact immediately, scoring 13 goals in first 19 Serie A matches. His tally currently places him second best goalscorer of the Italian league.
